The EIS Pilot started its journey on the 21st of June 2022. Thus far it has been the only social insurance scheme for the working population in Bangladesh. With the ceasation of the Pilot in June 2027, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) has initiated a three workshops to be done within 2025 to define the transition strategy. Upon completion of the three workshops by latest September 2025, a clear road map on Institutionalization shall be available that leads to a permanent scheme.
